Stationery and School bags

Hi,
Ds has been carrying IMPACT back pack in the past. The impact bag is extremely durable and serve its purpose wonderfully for him for the past years. As we find the bag serving its purpose so well, ds has changed to his second IMPACT bag earlier this year when his school bag load outgrew the size of his first bag early this year (The first bag is still in good condition and he is still using it once in a while when carring smaller load).
He will be going to P4 next year. As we plan to let him take the MRT home from school next year (instead of taking the school bus), given the distance he need to walk to take the train station, navigate within the train station and walk home from the station, we think that a trolley bag where he could easily roll his bag on wheel might be a better option. I have observed a few kiddos doing that from his same school and it sure look breezy for them when they navigate in and out of the train and stations.
I probably have not looked hard enough but I have not seen much trolley school bag options around. Wonder anyone here has kiddo using trolley bags or have a good trolley bag to recommend? Or know of any place that sell trolley bags suitable for the mid to upper primary kiddos.

My son used a trolley back in P1...the wheels didn't last with the way he used. A friend recommended SPI bag, which he used until end of P2...at P3, his books increased and cannot stuff into the 'S' size bag. Moved up to 'Large'. It's heavy but I tell him to keep books in locker. He's in P4 this year...Eng, Maths, Chinese everyday. Many exercise books and heavy file.Hi,

My DS started with SPI (S) beginning of this year and it is still in good condition.

Agree....it is definitely a better option if they keep their books in locker. However, I notice that the school timetable has packed their lessons back-to-back, and henceforth does not allow any time for the students to visit their lockers before the commencement of each period.

Even for a very organised child who can plan and take out the necessary items for the day before each school day begins (assuming he/she goes to school early before the silent reading time commence), at the end of the day after school, most would need to rush for school bus or be dismissed in groups that they usually have no time to pack the books back into the locker. -

My advice is to go for a good ergo bag - Deuter / Spartan are all reasonably priced at $60 - $80. I have one that lasted for 3 years and still in good condition to go for next year or 2. If you go for a cheap ergo bag, sometimes it doesn't last as well.
