My Girl- 7Yrs- losing her hair SOS
-
Thanks every one for you tips…
Yes I went and saw the GP first and took her yesterday.
He checked for bald patches. height weight etc… and said its a part of the growing up process. different children have different problems. etc. but he asked me to watch her if I am worried and also weather she develops other symptoms like losing weight, lose of appetite etc. Then I have to do a Blood tests to rule out the major illnesses.
he also asked me to add lots of fruit and veggies etc. etc. to her diet. as usual…
and he also asked me to change any mild shampoo for her… -
emerald:
I experimented with a few shampoo brands and finally settled for one when I noticed some improvement.
Hi emerald can I ask you what shampoo is that? I think I might switch back to J & J baby shampoo -
It could be hormonal.

I am planning to cut her hair short. she is going to hate me but what to do? -

commonly when they took some antibiotics these may happen.Did you bring her to see a doctor? How long has this been? My DD also had their hair fall off when they were younger, when I checked with the doctor, it was because they had a high fever not long before, probably they took some medication, and the hair start falling off after that. But it grew again.
I would advise you to see a doctor. -
Hope it will stop soon and that your child will be normal and healthy.

Should send your daughter for a thorough medical checkup. Perhaps you may want to add in vit supplements, there are some reputable brands of multivitamins for kids in the market.Try to massage your daughter’s scalp to enhance the blood circulation and throughflow of the ‘qi’ within the scalp.

we did a blood test. and she is ok. doc actually moniter her weight as well. so far everything is okay. I mean alittle better than the earlier stage.
when you massage do you use any oil?
what I did was
did cut her hair to sho.length
change her diet (in the aftercare she always take spagetti, poridge etc.
now I stopped working so I add a potion of boild veg. every day during dec hols. loads of green veggies as well. )
change back to mild shampoe. -
plum-cake:
hi plumcake, may i know for how long did your girl lose her hair? and roughly how many hair strands per day?She is seven and a half yrs old and started losing her hair.
It falls out when I comb her hair or wash.
Its looks like the hair come out from the scalp straight away.
There is no proof of breaking off. Its just comes out when I run my fingers through it.
My daughter eats well and she is not fussy .
my girl is 7 and has been dropping hair for the past 2 wks. in the house can find strands of hair everywhere. estimate abt 100 or more per day. brought her to pediatrician and he said could be due to her having fever 3 months ago. there's nothing we can do and the hair will continue to drop for weeks. Although new hair will grow but it will be not so soon.
i intend to cut her hair from waist length to above shoulder although doc say it will not help. i'm really worried as her hair is really thinning. very \"xin tong\".
anyone there has similar experience to share some advise? thanks a lot.

I think enough sleeping time will help to prevent hairlost, for 7-year-old children, must sleep 10 hours per day.
