talking abt return of menses, my boy is 20 mths liao and still feeding. i have not been having menses till date and many around me asked me to go for checkup saying something is wrong there, should come after a yr or so.

any of you whom had been feeding non stop for 2-3 years same like me menses free?
          Hi catang,

Most women will see a return of their fertility by the time baby is 24 months, though a small number may actually remain menses free for longer (ref: http://www.kellymom.com/bf/normal/fertility.html). So there may not be a need to worry unduly. Every woman's nursing patterns and body chemistry are different.

peh-boo realized that many singaporeans still cannot come to terms with breastfeeding in public - exposing ur breasts in view of general public.

last time got 1 mother tried breastfeeding her baby in mrt train also kana chased out.
              why like that hah? :?

in my nursing days i wore nursing tops 24/7, at home n in public.

it also helps when i sling my bb cos my bb can nurse and sleep even more discreetly in the sling

so i can nurse my bb anywhere anytime even in mrt cos it will be discreet enuf. i can nurse n talk to my friends, eat my food, shopping, all at the same time, without stopping.

my boy only drink direct, rejecting those kept in the fridge and warmed for him, formula doesnt work too. he is basically sucking for comfort and after attending infant care, he latched on so tightly even when sleeping. the moment i \"plugged\" out, he cries non-stop.

                  how does your gal self-wean??
My DD latched on direct as well as drink EBM from the bottle.

I don't know how or why she self-wean.

                  She just decided to.

Sometimes at home, she would pull down my t-shirt at home to look at them girls, and say \"nehneh\". But no nursing

Don't worry every woman's body is different.

And even for the same mother, every pregnancy is different.

                      Me too :hi5:

Sometimes, I just use a nappy cloth.

My DD doesn't \"expose\" me

                        MummyThreeStreams:
                        Hi everyone,

It's so nice to hear everyone's stories. I think sharing about your experience helps breastfeeding mums cope with the many challenges they face during breastfeeding.

I have two boys, aged 6 and 3, and I'm expecting my third.

I breastfed DS1 till he was about 5 plus. I nursed him when I was expecting DS2 and tandem nursed after DS2's arrival. DS1 weaned himself slowly and I don't remember when his last nursing session was!

I've temporarily stopped breastfeeding DS2 as I have some complications for this pregnancy which reaulted in me being hospitalized for several days. I'm still at risk of pre-term labour. Due to this, and great discomfort during breastfeeding, I asked DS2 for a time-out in my final two months. He was OK about it, as my supply had also dwindled due to the pregnancy hormones. I explained that there would be lots of milk when DS3 arrives.

My boys are very close. They fight over toys and games etc., but they have never displayed any form of jealousy. Perhaps the tandem nursing helped - DS1 was delighted by the copious amount of milk that the birth DS2 brought and was very happy to share it with his brother.

As with most breastfeeding mums, I faced challenges. I was always encouraged by the positive words from other mums and support from my DH. Now, I can't believe I've been breastfeeding for 6 years!
great to chance upon this thread! I've also been nursing dd who is coming to 5 soon, although she's not nursing much now - sometimes she can dun nurse for a few nights in a row. always tot i'm a rare breed in spore but really happy to know i'm not that rare here! 🙂

i'm always the one encouraging my other new mummy frens to persevere with the breastfeeding. i firmly believe that the fact that i know other friends who continue breastfeeding their kids for years helped me to continue! the group support is just amazing and for many who dun breastfeed long, its usually becos they dun have support and they dun know people who do it that long. so i m a living example to my new mummy frens that if i can do it, they can do it too!

honestly, i can't imagine my life w/o breastfeeding for it has bonded me and dd so close together. dh's full support and participation such as joking with dd to nurse also draws him into this close bond as well! 🙂
