      This is an interesting thread.

I'm 1.81m but my primary school boy is almost the shortest in his class.

He swims, plays basketball and black belt karate.

I do remember I was quite short too until Sec 3 when I started to engage in many different kind of sports. Then I started to grow taller.

This peaunt thingy sounds amusing, maybe I will give it a try. šŸ˜Ž

I have a very good guy friend who is quite short and he played basketball since P3 or P4. What he told me was, before the growing stage, if exercise too early and develop muscle, then won't grow tall much. How true not sure. But he claims that he is the testimony, and now, another example. So maybe, for boys should not engage in too much exercise before puberty. šŸ™‚

Girls too? i.e should not engage in too much exercise before puberty

Hmm, maybe. I think I remember seeing somewhere, when girls start ballet too early and develop the muscles, some of them are a bit short too. But I think need more statistic on that. šŸ˜„

To all the anxious parents, here's the formula looking into crystal ball, to predict how tall your children will be :

I think that make sense. I myself grew much taller when I started playing basketball almost everyday during the year-end school holidays at the age of 14

                peggy:
Yes, peanut plant with roots and black chicken. A must have soup from my mum in law for any of her grandchildren around 13. So far so good. Even the girls are about 1.68m at least.

                Hi peggy,

what exactly is \"peanut plant with roots\" ? how to pronoun in Chinese.

                Thanks.

Actually this soup is not very tasty. Esp the raw peanut smell. Sometimes bitter too. My MIL wld add more ground peanuts n also dried scallops to sweeten the soup.

Think my children had this peanut root soup at least once a mth then. We stopped when it was the flu season n my younger boy developed a persistent cough. So I switched to pork bones soup then and now pork tail bone soup.

I dun make pork bones soup now- too cumbersome to sieve the residue and remove the layer of oil after cooling it in the fridge. Now I use pork tail bones - less oily.

Any easier recipe? Can dry peanuts work as well?

i think is the roots of the peanut plant which is of help......which is diff from juz dry peanuts.

Can a 2-yr-old toddler drink this peanut soup? Does anyone know if there are any issues?

Tian Qi will have to wait until pri sch.

I know it's a bit KS but she's already in bottom 15-20 percentile in height. Both parents are also short. Just hope she hits average height only šŸ™

                      TIA
                      2 yr old only ??
i think u prob wanna to wait till yr child is older before deciding whether yr chid needs to grow taller or not.

btw, some childen are allergic to peanuts.....be aware of that.

Er...I started ballet at 4 and danced into my 20s and now I'm 1.7m...there were several tall girls learning with me too! Too tall to be prima ballerina!
