Hi insider, i recommend you bring your son to an ENT specialist. The have ear wax cleaning service using a very thin tube instrument suck out the ear wax. I just did it last week. He recommend do ear wax cleaning once a year or once every two ears. The process is less than 10 mins and painless.

Mine at Mt E. consulation $100, ear wax cleaning service $50. Ear hearing test if required, is $50. No medication. I did mine because my left ear was blocked with the pressure feeling. It just happened when i woke up ine morning. Then follow by flu. However when the flu recovered, the pressure and blockage still there, i cannot hear well and keep having a humming sound. In the end, after suck out the wax, everything is back to normal.

                insider:

Yes, it is so important for parents to consider their child's issue from a physical point of view and try to rectify the issue before 'scolding' coz many times, kids just can't verbalise and so many of them may be suffering in silence and get scolded for nothing.
Yes very true. I'm still learning this lesson. Sometimes I have the presence of mind to stop and check, but sometimes I'm so rush to get things done or too tired, I forget the experiences that taught me those lessons.

I would think $150 for both ears wax cleaning is reasonable. I never clean my ear wax with the stick thing myself because i am too scared to do it. The last time i did the ear wax cleaning was in 2008 by this ENT specialist too. That time was see him for my throat, 顺便 clean clean ear wax. 🙂

I tried dripping the ear drop in my gal’s ears but she complained ticklish. The GP says must drop for 3 days for the ear wax to soften. After that she can do the flushing for us. But everytime I tried the 1st day, my gal will not let me drop anymore…headache leh…how ah…Do your ear feel itchy after putting the ear drop?

                        Hi insider,

My DS had both his ears \"flushed\" the first time a few months back (he's 4 yos). Initially we went to another doc and she gave him Tropex but after the first lump came out, it did not work for the rest.

We did not know how much was stuck in there till we went to our regular GP. After the wash, he was so happy, plus his behaviour also changed for the better in school. The amount of wax must have blocked his hearing too much that he could not understand what was being taught or he was using too much energy to listen to what the teachers were teaching that he became irritated after some time.

Our GP is in Chinatown pt, if you still need the infor, I can PM you.

                        Hi SAHM_TAN,

Would like to try the ear flushing for DS...how's the process like? Will it take very long to do?

Can pm me the infor of your GP?

Lately I saw a lump of wax near the opening of DS ears.....have also used ear drops before but he complained of tickle and refuse to let me drip...
