We didn’t go for the farmstay but we went to experience genuine Australian country hospitality at Warrook Farm, a ‘fair dinkum’ cattle and sheep property. We got a chance to feed the kangaroos, wombats and baby farm animals. Watching the sheep dogs run through their paces as they muster sheep. My DS had a chance to shear the sheep during the interesting sheep shearing demonstration out in the ‘shed’ or barn.

Of all activities we did in Melbourne, the farm visit was the most enjoyable as we happened to be the only family at that time slot so the owner let us tried everything they need to do in the farm.

Yes, we got our package at the airport. We joined the half day tour for Puffy Billy. I think the duration is just right. Don’t need to go all the way to Lakeside unless you have a day to spend.

          Hi,

actually depends on weather. Some year there is snow as early as beginning June but some years snow only start end June. Hence if you want to go for snow ar Mt buller better timing maybe in July as snow will almost be guaranteed. We cannot wait till July hence will go as late June as possible

We took the Puffy Billy from Belgrave to Menzies Creek. And yes, Warrook Farm is a wonderful place, kids enjoy the most there 🙂

As you get out the airport, head to the right, near where the domestic terminal is... There is a booth and can buy a bus ticket to the city centre bus station. At the bus station, you \"register\" for another bus to take you to the hotel.

Even with kids, this is an easy and relatively cheap way to get to your hotel. Otherwise, a cab would do it, and it's about A$30-40 if I remember correctly.
