Cert also got fake one now, try to sit in the lessons.

some teachers do not like us sitting in... they feel uneasy... but i can see them cos my door has a clear stripe of window panel... so i dun usually sit in..

But if they are good then ok what. why uneasy?
I guess it could be like even if you are doing your work but you also don't like your boss staring/looking at you doing.

Actually you can see your child's work and ask them for feedback.

To them, no homework=good, got homework-teacher is bad.
I see for myself is better.
Maybe different children are different. My children will give honest feedback especially my daughter as she's already in secondary school and sometimes more kan cheong about her school work than me.

By the way, you mentioned that your tutor is an assessment book writer. Mind pm-ing me who?

I came across a tuition centre near to ikea tampines. The in charge tutor is a male with white streaks of hair. He looks creepy. My Daughter asked me to pull her out immediately after the 2nd lesson. He ask her if he can take photos of her anot as he works as a part time photographer. I don’t even care about my deposit and just took her out. He couldnt produce cert too when i asked for it

I am a current full time graduate tutor. I have taught tuition in study rooms made of transparent glass before. I think it's pretty cool because the child will not misbehave and I can be seen doing my teaching 🙂

Another instance, in another house, the dad was using his computer in the study room when I was teaching her daughter. In fact, I support the parent's move because the tutor is a stranger (first lesson). The dad was inside for 30 mins then after that he left me alone with his daughter 🙂 for tutors just be confident of your own teaching and conduct yourself well.

Not surprising, I don’t think tuition centre regulated by MOE, just need to apply business license with ACRA.

It seems he has been on the radar of other parents too.

I think Glacier74 didnt want to name it as some centre will sue you for defamation.

I think i also know which centre she referring to as my friend told me about it before. She paid for the lessons full, her daughter attended 2 lessons and then suddenly when trying to arrange for the 3rd lesson after exams, the teacher and the admin girl were both gone, not answering hp and not answering the door.

Its possible that they went on holiday for a while but not possible if it continues for a month to two. She simply couldn’t get them and shouldn’t they inform the parents if they go away for a long trip? Its ridiculous.

Heard from her they operate in a HDB EA unit and they teaches pri and sec, and that the sec sch tutor is a male who specialize in only E & A math.

When they know they have been clearly up to no good, I doubt they dare to sue. Taking legal action will only bring attention and ridicule to their preposterous acts. Think the NKF saga on a smaller scale.

Anyways since Glacier74 has chosen not to bring any more specifics to the table as evidenced from her silence, let's just respect her decision.

Yes true too. Parents just be careful if come across this centre will do. Was talking to my friend about it, she told me located near to a pri school in tampines along tampines st 72.
