Try doing some home activities? yea watching a family movie would be a great start! How bout decorating stuff together? could be a room etc. me, my kids and husband are planning to create/decorate a scrap book/ photo book for my mum's birthday present! I think it's a good opportunity to explore our creativity as a family and see whether we can work as a family or not hahaha!

Try watching classic movies together for a change. Many of these movies have excellent plots and portray good values. A friend's kid starting an old movies blog... There are good titles there you can check out and borrow from the National Library.

For the weekends, I would try to make the entire family do some spring cleaning so that they can learn some basic life skills.


- Baking: Teach them how to measure, time, proper mixing technique, temperature etc.
- Mopping: Teach them what causes the floor to be sticky, how to remove odour and also teach them how to be hard working and keen on details (I will make them push the sofa to a side and mop the underneath or pay attention to narrow corners and not miss it or pick up hairs)
- Cooking: The different utensils in the kitchen and how to protect themselves (e.g. water would cause the oil to splatter). . .

Thank goodness, they found it enjoyable! :boogie:

I think Singapore’s kinda great cos nowadays, there’re always events to attend with the families. And most importantly, many of them are FREE! Here are a couple of events I considered attending with Little E and J recently, especially since it was the school holidays (though I didn’t attend all of them, no such energy!):


- Fishing clinic Lower Seletar Reservoir as part of Singapore World Water Day
- Easter Egg hunt at the Cooled Conservatories at Gardens By The Bay
- Free ‘Around the World’ concert by the SAF Central Band at the Esplanade
- Public Garden Flea Market at National Museum of Singapore

Normally, I just try to do research early in the week to plan for the weekend. It works well cos I feel so grumpy on Mondays, looking for fun things to do naturally cheers me up!

Hope you don't mind me answering....
The Green Corridor does get its fair share of walkers and cyclists on weekends, A natural track has formed. Don't forget the mosquito repellant especially in the evening.
More green spaces in singapore these days. Besides the tree top walk , there is lots of walk track along the reservoir. Bulky timah hill, trek up mt faber and go thru the Henderson wave, along the telok Blanga hill top to hort park , kent ridge park,.... You can go till the distance you feel comfortable and exit. You can check out the nparks for guides

Play Xbox Kinect together. It's fun and if you play Kinect Sports the whole family get a good physical workout.
