Ya any mummies with kids there can help? Cant make up my mind which school to enroll on thur? Just dun understand why not many Ppl wanna enroll.
-
I was told there are quite a number of foreigners in GY perhaps due to the fact that there are many popular schs such as cat high, ATS and kcps in bishan, all full by phase 2c.

this new P is from which school before she come over to GY ?

Hi
From what I hear from the teachers and parents, the new P is good. Amethyst11, your info does not seem correct, very few teachers have left the school. She cares for the pupils and even personally coaches some P6 pupils. Last year's results went up cos she motivates the pupils to do well and she works with the teachers for the pupils. Last year's P6 parents gave her thumbs up and raved about her.
I think the school is affected by ATS and CH which are in the vicinity. Most people want branded schools, that's why. But I think the family also matters a great deal. If the child is in a branded school with no home support, I doubt the child can perform. Must also look at the general cohort's performance, not just 1 top pupil.
BTW, the P was from Pei Hwa Presbyterian Primary, SAP school from Bukit Timah. She knows her stuff and has put in new things esp for the P1 and P2s. Curriculum quite solid. I like.As a parent, I think I am comfortable with the P, have fedback stuff to her and she takes actions immediately. Her children top priority, she says. :boogie:

Hi Hi! Both my kids r in GY. Feel free to ask me any questions. I'll try to answer your queries. :))
I agree. I heard from my frens that the P (Mdm Wu) is a hands-on person. She interacts with the children and personally coaches P6 pupils for PSLE. Hmm...hoping my child gets that extra boost next year. It will help. I hope mi gal can get into a good secondary school then. Another level of stress!
Currently GY is having jumble sale, teaching kids about recycling and protecting the environment. Good effort, handled by the PSG. Kudos to these mummies and daddies! -
I guess Gy is surrounded by many popular schools. People want their kids to go to popular schools as priority. Furthermore, I think GY does not do much publicity and hence not many people notice GY is there.
BTW, I cannot wait for GY to move back to Bishan. I see the building going up and up, my kids can’t wait to use the new facilities. There’s lots of excitement! -
So, any GY mummies out there know about the elearning stuff to be held on 18 and 19 August? Is this true?
-
Hi!
I am new here! I just registered my child into GYPS. im very excited with the new building coming up! We saw the 3D model and was very impressed by the facilities!!!
Any other then those programmes to share. How are the teachers there like? -
After the previous Principal has left, GY has not been able to attract students and the school had been going downhill. I was helping my neighbour to pick up her boy from the school when I overheard a conversation between two teachers at the school. One of them is a Malay teacher telling an arrogant Chinese female teacher (who acted damn fierce when I saw her later telling another staff off and literally talking down to students) that the new Principal is not approachable, very useless and totally not hands on. In fact, they had so much bad things to say about the Principal’s leadership including citing examples. I can’t recollect the examples but the conversation seemed very real and I was really shocked by what I heard.
