Secondary School CCA

NdHelpParent:
hi, i just joined this website, i find it rly useful! anyway in reply to your concern, my daughter was once from nanyang npcc as well. her character has changed ever since she has joined that cca for the better. she constantly praises her cca to me, and i can tell she enjoys her training sessions a lot. i have also noticed that she has matured a lot after joining npcc and becomes more skilful in many things. she also became more independent. as a uniformed group it would involved marching definitely, but my girl told me before that they also do other things apart from marching and doing drills. i hope this has helped youMy girl is in NYGH and she has chosen NPCC as one of the CCAs interested though she has no idea how it will be like. Does anyone here know if there are lots of marching for NPCC as compared with NCC?
Thanks in advance  -
I've a question to ask. Would the cca points be gone if my dd were to transfer to a better school with her eoy results? :? Thank you.

No. CCA points are keyed into MOE's system which will be transferred over to the new school.
However, before you finalise the withdrawal from current school, check carefully that the school has entered all the points correctly. Some schools wait till the kids are in S4 before they enter all the data from S1 to S4. -

But let's say she changes her cca in the new school, the cca points would be gone right? :stupid:
No, it does not work this way.
Example:
Your child is in NPCC since S1 in School A. She has chalked up a total of 12 points in S1 with School A.
In S2, she transfer to School B and start a new CCA, maybe Netball.
The 12 points she earned from NPCC in S1 from School A will remain hers, it will not be deleted or taken away. It's just a matter of getting more CCA points in S2 - 4 to score an A1 or A2.
The criteria for all CCA points to be deleted from system is if your CCA attendance does not meet minimum 50%.
Don't worry about the points transferring over to new school. It is all in MOE's system as long as keyed in correctly. When you do withdrawal from current school, they'll print out the CCA records for you to check also.
Anyway, this works the same for any offences or learning disabilities. It is all recorded in MOE's system and once you transfer school, the new school can access to the information. Same thing from Primary to Secondary -

I was really slack in CCAs because I preferred studying.
So I only got participation points in Library Club for 2 years.
Amazingly, I got 20 CCA points, and an A2 in CCA!
Amen!!
Actually, itβs thanks to my CIP hours in NLB. -

Refer to table 3 for LEAPS, maximum points you can get for participation is 10 and maximum for Service (CIP) is 5.
There is no way you can get 20 if you did not attain any point for Leadership, Achievement and Enrichment.
