Hi KoalaMummy, I am sure your hubby has given much thought about vasectomy before considering going for it. I think it is very noble of him to do so. Most local men would not even give a thought to it. It is always the women who have to contend with contraception issues. Male sterilization is much safer than female ligation.

haha, actually not really lei...i'm the one who suggests it (as per your reason above) and he accepts it.. one impt reason is that it's cheaper too

The important thing is that he is willing to undergo the procedure at his expense. That shows how much he is willing to sacrifice for you!
Not that i want my hubby to go for it, but when i casually suggested it, he simply brushed it aside! 😛
So the onus on him now is self restraint!

is it really a sacrifice? like if something goes wrong it'll render it a DEAD weapon? :?

We decided that 2 is enough, because we cannot afford anymore kids.

At that time, we were also worried about this ‘permanent’ way of preventing pregnancy, such as should anything happen to kids (TOUCHWOOD), ‘factory’ is closed. But my aunt told me it’s God’s Will. I believed what she told me, even though I’m not a Christian.

My 2nd one (daughter) came unexpected but it’s might as well since my maternity instinct was kinda strong but not brave enough to try for 2nd one. After having this op, we don’t have to worry anymore about ‘accidents’. It’s a constant worry every month when menses come late because of stress or for other reasons.

Actually when i suggest to my hubby, he resisted too.. he thot that it would make him an 'eunach\" (sorry, not sure how to spell it). but when i seach internet and learn more, i share with him. and that's when he's willing to do it...esp the part that says 'men's sexual desire would increase after the op'

I wanted to go for ligation after 2nd one, but didnt have courage to go into OT. It’s cheaper for men to go for vasectomy than women. Done under GA as day surgery

it's not only cheaper but safer for men to do it then for women... as someone says \"for women, it's internal whereas for men, it's external\"

Vas is very common ops oversea. But Asians, esp guys got stigma :!:

This is afterall, our Manhood 😉

                    - 15min ops
                    - no permanent scar, only snip snip
                    - heal faster than ligation
                    - can excercise (both jog or couple time) after three weeks
                    - Try Sgh - should be $700 to $1000 (no need GA), cheaper than ligation
                    - private specialists charge $1.5k to $2k
                    - the wife went though childbirth, man can afford some sacrifice too :celebrate:
                    - in worst case, reverse Ops has higher success rate for guys, compared to ladies

penglee is right. this is a relatively minor procedure.

just google for a reliable urology specialist and call for a quotation.
