    • RE: Europe Trip

We did 3 weeks Europe Trip in June and we had a good time.

I didn't think much of how we should plan our route when I bought return tickets S$ 750 A380 Lufthansa to Paris. From Paris, we took Easyjet to Zurich (about Euro 300 for 4 tickets) followed by a train to Lucerne (CHF 50+ for 4 tickets).

      8D7N in Lucerne (Airbnb S$1900)
4D3N in Milan (Standard CHF 10 train ticket from Lucerne, Hotel S$ 720)
3D2N in Venice (Premium Euro 17.50 train ticket Milan to Venice, Airbnb S$ 680)
6D5N in Paris (about Euro 300 on Easyjet for 4 tickets, Airbnb S$1070)

We stayed in hotel in Milan and used Airbnb for others. We arranged airport pick up in Paris (Euro 50 X 2 ways) and train station pick up @ Lucerne station (CHF 40x2 ways).

If you want to do a few mountain trips in Switzerland, I think Lucerne is a good base for Central Switzerland. Lake Lucerne is beautiful. There are Mount Rigi, Mount Titlis (snow), Brienz Rothorn Bahn, Mount Pilatus etc.

We bought a 10 days Tell-Pass (free travel within Central Switzerland) cost CHF 280 for adult and kids below 16 cost only CHF 30 regardless of days! So we hopped on/off ferries, trains, buses, free entries up the mountains, cable cars, cogwheel trains. Love this trip! I plan to go back again and will bring my parents this time.
Work out the maths to figure out the cost if Tell-Pass will be worth it. We bought for the convenience. Worth every cent and more in our opinion!

Milan - We attended an open air concert and shopped of course.

Venice - Get the 2 or 3 days water taxi tickets. It will save you lots of time.

Paris - Need I say more?! Its Paris. We ate well and had many desserts and crepes (every morning).

The basic package (air tickets, accommodation , train tickets, Tell-Pass) for a family of 4 -
      S$ 9700. 🕺

As for food - depends on your budget! We had good lunches and cooked most dinners. The kids chill while we prepared dinners and did our laundry.

In all - we enjoyed Lucerne the most and would love to go back again !

CNY period is peak period. The European likes to go there during Jan/Feb/March. Nowadays many resorts do cater to China tourtists. So for CNY - peak period.

We are going to go 1st week of June for 8 days on SQ. It is the only time we can go since its school holidays. I hope it doesnt rain !

    • RE: Hougang 苏老师学堂 - Discussion

Hello 苏老师学堂 moved to home based now. Blk 526 Hougang Ave 6. They have many students.

My kids attend Math next door.

I happened to talk to a mother while waiting for our kids. Her child is with 苏老师学堂. Very convenient!

So I may just put my gal with 苏老师学堂.

    • RE: Travel: USA - Florida/Orlando

      Hi Luvtravel,

Yes I booked the resort on cheaptickets, themepark tickets at UT and also photoconnect on Universal Studio website. 3 different places.

I wasnt sure what I wanted to eat n I didnt plan breakfast in the parks. We usually had a quick breakfast in the room and then eat around 11am for lunch. 11am wasnt crowded. For 3 Broomsticks, we wanted to eat the family platter. LOL. Too much food!!! Anyway I did not want to pay in advance for my meals.

I didnt stay at Fort Wilderness. It is a campsite so the compound is much bigger. It is recommended to rent a cart (like the golf cart) as some areas are not accessible by cars. There are several loops and you must find out which loops are nearer to swimming pools etc. There are bus transportation at Fort Wilderness and it is a boat ride away to MK. Anyway if you are planning to stay at a cabin, you are likely to have a car and a rental cart.

If you are going to go Soaring Ride at Epcot, please ask for B1 row. This row is the best. A and C are both on either side of B and the views will be different if you sit at A and C. Ask only for B1!

Wolfgang Puck is a counter service but the food was much nicer than even table service. Please do tip the waiter or waitress. They were so nice and helpful.

I have done some water taxi or free ferry rides.

      1) From DTD to French Quarters,
      2) From Epcot to Hollywood Studio - Epcot, BW, YC, Walphin to HS. It is a lovely scenic ride if you are not a hurry or with impatient tweens. It is a great wind down time. You can stop at BW and take your lunch!
      3) From MK to Fort Wilderness for the Chip & Dale Campfire. It is a free activity and my kids LOVE it ! I cannot stress it enough. The campfire was the most enjoyable activity for my gals. The singing and dancing with Chip & Dale! Very memorable night. We chose to walk from the jetty to the campfire because i was told the walk would be beautiful and we saw many cabins and caravan light up! So Xmas feel.
