S6169:
I told the FT that i needed to rush back to office and managed get her to see me at 8.10am...i think in future i will always grab the early sessions..bcos no Q and can talk more and T was fresh and chirpy...
I try to talk to both EL and CL within one hour. no q for EL Teacher and wait 50 min for CL teacher. IMO, the teacher must stop the parent to prevent such things happen.php:
wow...so good for you..
i waited half and hour to speak to the FT and our conversation lasted less than 5 mins...
then went over to queue to c CL teacher...5 persons in front of me...
one P1 parent talking non-stop for half hour..we P2 parents were staring at each other, in our mind must be thinking so much things to talk meh....waited for 45min and the Cl teacher came over to us and told us she needed to go for lunch and ask all the parents to come back half an hour later.. by then the queue already grew longer...in the end, decided to give a miss....
Had not planned to see math T and chi T, but when i was done with FT, found that math T's teacher was free of Q...so just jump in quickly even tho she said she must give priority to her form class...but i told her no Q wat...so pays to be thick-skinned
Cannot see chi T bcos her Q was so long...and i was rushing off....left the sch b4 9am...think i like this \"early appt\"...
My DS - generally ok (but i guess P1...all generally OK rt? unless u are exceptionally good/bad, then will be highlighted)...but T say his handwriting is bad..so got to work harder on that....and he needs to be more passionate abt READING...... :? -
RE: Pei Hwa Presbyterian Primary
Just want to check with parents on how u build ur kids's math foundation in p1/p2.... My ds is in p1 he seems to be still weak in the LESS THAN / MORE THAN concept, also weak in number pattern..he seems less focused in math than EL/CL and he gets tired easily whenever we go thru maths..is this normal :?
I would like to help ds build a stronger foundation in p1/p2 cos I know it is not going to be easy in upper pri...

Bringing up a child is already tough. And we parents still have to be kiasu and tried all means to put the child into a good school in the midst of all these competitions... Sigh.
Talking abt being KS, my DS started P1 this year...we used to be super bo-chap as to which pri sch he will attend..then sometime in Mar 2010, our panic button was pressed...within the next 3 weeks, we made the major decision of shifting to a rented place just to get our DS into the sch which we wanted...suddenly, our family's routine/schedules changed within a short span of 4 weeks..!
So my advice to parents out there, PLAN EARLY, TRY your best within reasonable means...and leave the rest to GOD/FATE (whatever ur religion)

Bukit Timah is not too bad...in 2010 my ds failed to ballot for PHPPS at phase 2C and we registered with bukit timah pri...Soooo sad
but my area nearest is only these schs...PHPS,Henry Park,Butik Timah,MGS ,Raffles etc...
But now is registering for SON so only 3 schs to choose fm...wat u tink abt Bukit timah sch?
we put him on wait list with PHPPS and just 3 weeks before sch term started, we recd a call from PHPPS telling us they hv vacancy to take us in.
basically, bukit timah pri is quite popular with students who hv failed to get into schs like PHPPS/NYPS/Nanhua/etc...apparently this sch produces quite a number of GEP students each year....the reason why it is not a usualfirst choice is probably bcos of its location...it is situated in eng kong landed estate...so not so convenient -
RE: Pei Hwa Presbyterian Primary
Can’t help on the timetable but for Int 8, ds told me that CL spelling is on an adhoc basis.
CL teacher will inform in advance if there is one. For Int 8, there is no pre-defined CL spelling list like in eng. Should be the same for Int 10 rite?[/quote]
Hmmm…u mean CL spelling had started? my ds did not say anything at all and i do not see any CL spelling lists being given out…my ds is from int 5…
do diff P1 class progress differently?..so far i asked him but he said no chinese spelling… -

Hi...Berries try to teach chinese in a fun way...for the pre-primary kids.Hi XYZ1
I'll check out the ctr then, is it mainly learning thru speech n drama, poems, stories etc? Thks!
My kids...and many of my other friends' kids all seem to enjoy this \"fun\" way of learning mandarin.
Once they hit K2 level, they introduce hanyu pinyin and for their primary sch levels, they follow the MOE chinese curriculum closely...
in fact, they actually prepare your child well for higher chinese in pri sch..this is my personal experience la.
