      Dear Parents

Please donโ€™t take my query as offensive. But as a parent, Iโ€™m worried about this.

Do you think or have you ever witnessed putting boys to the all-boy school probably affect their sexual orientation? Because they will only see and have boys as their friends during their puberty. I do not (and will never) oppose or reject LGBT but I only have one child.
      Thanks
This is funniest question I have seen. :rotflmao: I am a guy (parent) and come from an all boys primary and secondary school. No, an all boys school did not affect my sexual orientation, and I reckon it will not affect any boy's sexual preference. Everyone I knew in my school were straight. If he isn't, it has definitely nothing to do with him being in an all boys school.

On the 22nd dec, reporting time is 830am. Anyone knows what time will the event ends?

Just purely registration and purchasing of textbooks and uniform? Thanks in advance!!
moment3w3, welcome to our Hwa Chong family!

Based on past years' experience, most students only have to register and purchase items. I don't recall a fixed ending time, once everything was bought we could just go off, although there were some people who also decided to look around the school.

I checked in 2015 HCI COP was 256, 2016 was 260. My ds T-score 254 + 3 (HMT), will he get a chance to join the school?

          Please advise. Thanks.

Thanks!! We were looking around for schools after my child scored unexpectedly beyond expectation. Hwa chong is the only school that open its doors on a friday afternoon and even station boys to bring us around.

Btw my son scored 262+2. Can i just put HCI as the only choice without a 2nd choice? Is the grade a safe one?

                Hi Moment3w3,
My Son getting into HCI next year too. I was told that it will take approximately 1 hour for registration, buying of books and uniforms in the school book shop (popular). I already bought the school uniforms and secondary 1 books. Just to avoid the crowd on 22 Dec. The Aunty in the bookshop help in getting the right sizes etc. Bought 3 sets of uniforms and 3 sets of PE attire. They accept credit card, nets and cash. Total of secondary 1 textbooks and uniforms about $380.. hope that helps...books are really heavy though so do bring along help.

                  Hi chocolate2005,

My son will be joining the HCI family next year too ๐Ÿ˜„ Is the Sec 1 booklist available yet? And is the bookshop open throughout the day? Do they allow parents to just walk into the school? Thanks.

                    Hi Teapot
Yes the secondary 1 textbook list is in the bookshop. I drove in so had to exchange my ID for a pass. I am not sure what time the bookshop close. I went there just around 230pm. Itโ€™s quite a walk in and I got lost. So ask around for the book shop which is near the canteen. I recall having to walk towards the hall and got to go down few steps..
