Sorry for the repost
Hello,
I would like to ask about the Year 3 DSA to RI for local students. May i know what topics they might possibly test for the entrance examinations for Science? What is tested for english? Also how many places are usually given to local students as i am aware RI takes in a bulk of foreign scholars in year 3. How many students apply and what are the chances of getting in.
I am currently in an IP school and i am have been placed in the SBGE programme. I am also in a sport and i play for the school.Does anyone have experience on the Year 3 DSA? Hope you guys would help me out. Any info would help! :?: :?: :imdrowning: -
Half a year has gone by, just like that.. Hopefully, after the June break, our boys are all fully-charged to move on to the 2nd half of their first year with RI...
DS says there are a few changes in Term 3...
Apart from a having a new Time-table (as expected), the class has a new Science teacher (doing Physics instead of Chemistry) and a new Chinese teacher (old Chinese teacher left). No more Research Education (hooray!), and in its place is Computer Studies (hooray hooray!!).
For Japanese Language, DS is in a new class with a new teacher. DS says quite a number of boys have ''dropped'' Japanese Language in Term 3 (not sure of other 3rd Languages, though). The remaining boys have been placed in different classes based on their Exam results for Japanese Language.
I have a feeling that DS is in the same class as Ms Tay's DS this term... -
Hope your sons will make you proud

Hi, I have a question regarding CCA in RI.
I understand every RI student has to select at least one core CCA. Is there any exemption? Chess club (including Chinese Chess, International Chess and Weiqi) is a merit CCA in RI. For a student involved in the above mind sports and competes at the international level, he may have to spend 10 to 20 hours weekly for National Associationβs youth program, private training sessions and own practice. In addition, he has to take part in many local competitions and some overseas ones as well. Is there any possibility that he be granted an exemption? Who is the person in RI we can enquire about this?
TIA. -
Hi Ms Tay & Firefly,
I would like to check with you ladies, or any other KSPs if your child has received their third language results for first half of the year? My DS taking French but thus far, no reports on any results. -

DS has not received any results formally (in the form of Results Slip) for his 3rd Lang too.. However, DS knew his marks for every tests he sat for in terms 1 & 2, and his Japanese Language teacher also taught them how to calculate GPA based on their marks.. Hence, DS says he got 4.0 for 3rd Lang..
DS says the 3rd Lang GPA was not used to compute their Average GPA for the Mid-Year Exam, but it can be used to compute their Average GPA for the Year-End Exam. . -
