Am surprised to find this thread…thought i’m the only suay one. Before and when i was pregnant, my DH promised the sky and the moon. When my son was borned, nothing was done. My DS is now 4 months plus and till date, he has only changed his diapers once (and that’s because i was stuck doing my post-natal massage) and ‘bathed’ him once (not really bathed cos he gave up halfway and passed DS back to me). I know he is tired from work but i’m a FTWM as well. He doesn’t want to change his son’s diapers because he finds it disgusting. He doesn’t want to bathe his son because it’ll ‘always get my clothes wet leh’. And many other things which i’m too tired to spell out here. I’ve spoken to him about it and he promised he will put in more effort from now on. Me too, hope that things will improve…Else i’m just a single mother with financial assistance.

Now i know how this term Little Wings come about. Looks like NTUC had taken over around 20 PCF centres, so for such centres, they are named as PCF Little Wings.

Still awaiting feedback from parents who have children at PCF Jurong Blk 553 or 404 😄 Personally, had good vibes from the principle from PCF Blk 553.

      butterwaffles,

check out this post by tamarind
Wow, thanks! Now i remember reading this post by Tamarind. I'm pretty keen on the 2 new PCF Little Wings childcare & kindergarten at Jurong West as they cater right from the toddler class to K2. I've spoken to 2 of the teachers there but i keep forgetting to ask about the hours as i just assumed it's full day. It seems like they are using the don't know what ridby or riggs literacy programme for the kids & parents have good feedback. Fees are different as well thou both are PCF. One charges $342 for the toddler class up to N1 & $288.50 from N2-K2. Another charges $577 for the toddler class & $288.50 from N1-K2. I wonder why the hugh difference in fees. LV @ Biopolis is charging $609 from toddler class to K2.

Would be grateful if any parents can shed some light on the difference between a PCF kindergarten & a PCF Little Wings childcare/kindergarten 🙏 When did this Little Wings thing come into the picture??!

JJmom2008, what do you mean by 8hours PCF K1 & K2? Usually, is nursery only a few hours a day or full day, like childcare?

I’ve did a search but found no post on PCF Jurong (street 42) Blk 404. Any parents have children attending childcare/kindergarten at blk 404?

Luvkid, thanks for your encouragements! Ever since my son was born, he wakes up every 2-3 hours for milk without fail, day & night. He cried alot too and was diagnosed with colic and acid reflux. It was really really tough and quite a few times, i locked myself in the toilet with him and we cried together 😢 Haha...I felt so heartpain when he was crying and crying and i couldn't do anything to make him feel better. Like you, i don't ignore the cryings. I go to him as soon as i can and sayang him. My PD tells me she doesn't believe in the carry-too-much-will-spoil-the-baby theory. She advised me to tahan and be patient because babies can only cry, that's their only form of communication. She also tells me babies will be more emotionally secure and stable when they are older if their cries are not being ignored. I'm not sure if her theory is correct but even if i'm advised to let my son cry it out, i cannot. My heart cannot take it ah.

So far, my son has been kind to me 🙂 I try to have a bedtime routine for him whenever he is with me at nights but it's difficult as he has no routine at my MIL's. Weekends are easier. Will bathe him, play with him for a while, give him milk then pat him to sleep. Im contemplating to ask for a shorter workweek or shorter working hours every day when my son starts his childcare next year so that i can be the one who fetch him to and from childcare. I'll only have one child, so this one is very precious to me, haha!

Now, i kowtow to FTWMs with more than 1 child. It is not easy! Thou when they are older, might be 'easier' to take care of, but with every phase they enter, comes different challenges/problems. Not matter how old our kids are, there will always be issues right? So kudos to all FTWMs out there, really not easy!

Charmaine, where do you stay? I reside at Jurong West and the nearer My First Skool branches are bursting to the seams already. I’m now considering Little Wings under PCF (i assumed they are under PCF, since the PAP logo is there) as they offer childcare to K2. My son is 3 months plus now, am looking for a childcare for him to attend when he turns 18 months next year. I am hoping not to have to look for another school when it’s time for him to go N1. Would be good if he can attend the same school until K2 hence i’m here, thou this thread is for the sharing on PCF kindergartens…

    • RE: PCF/PAP Kindergartens

Mummy of 2, thanks! The reason i'm asking, is because there is a link on the PCF website which explains the registration phases for intake 2011. For the second phase, it is sort of categorized into 3. Residents of Your Ward (for singaporeans and PR), Residents from Other Wards (and for this one, it states ff the child resides in the Opposition Wards, an endorsement is required from the child's Ward's PCF advisor :whut: ) and Parents who are on employment passes or foreigners.

Also...Little Wings is under PCF right? I wonder if any parents here send your children to childcare under PCF/Little Wings? I noticed that the email address provided under the Little Wings website states myfirstskool.com. Confusing...When a lady from Little Wings called me and i asked her about the branch at Blk 922 Jurong, she sounded confused and asked if the branch i'm referring to under My First Skool. I said i don't know but i found the address from the PCF website. As i stay at St. 93, of cos i would prefer a nearer childcare centre...Anyone parents here residing in the same area as me? :snuggles:

Charmaine, your concern is similar to mine. I was trying very hard to read through all the pages here, then i realised not all PCFs offer childcare. Most offer N1-K2. That’s when i started to search for PCFs that offer childcare. Some even offer infantcare. But reading the many useful posts by parents here, i’m thinking what if my son goes to a particular PCF that offers childcare but this PCF does not prepare kids well enough for P1. Can i withdraw him and register for another PCF? I was reading the registration details and process for N1 and it seems very competitive because priority seems to be given to existing students and the siblings of existing students. Am i right? So can i assume that PCFs who only offer N1-K2 with no childcare, those that register for N1, are all new ones, so no priority to given to anyone? I would also like to find out for the registration of N1, any priority given to those who stay nearer?
