Even with direct bus, are there traffic junctions they need to cross?

RE: Mommy Huiwen's Little Corner
I have 2 girls. DD1 is in a girl school and does not do third language. Limited chance to interact with boys. She doesn’t seem keen either. She did say her seniors discuss about bgr though. I won’t stop if she find someone in JC. Just need to be sensible. I have friends who married their boyfriends from JC and are still together.

RE: In-law problems?
MyPillow:
Ya...they helped take care of my kids when I was working. I never need a helper. Now that they are old and need us, we should be around.Cloud Cloud:
Good to live nearby but not together. Easier when you need help for the kids or the grandparents need help when sick. I live a few blocks from my in-laws.
Since your IL are ok n supportive ,
Should not move away - best logistic now with few blocks away is efficient -

If you feedback, school will probably say they secured through tender and that is the best price. We are really at the receiving end....Hi, anyone putting their child in school bus?
I was quoted $160 for 2-way & $140 for 1-way!!! And my house is just 2 bus stops away! I feel that it is such a rip off!
My elder girl whose school is 8 bus stops away, her school bus fare is only $74 for 2 way... That's half the price...
I would appreciate any feedback from parents' whose child is also in WPS & is taking the school bus.
Thanks!

RE: All about Transferring to Other Primary Schools
doudou77:
Except for Ai Tong, the schools you cited are all gep centres. Focus may be less on the mainstream, especially for competitions. But if you really want to try, maybe can highlight your child talents..besides academic results.Hi all,
I am new here. Thanks everyone.
My kid is in P3 this year. Passed him GEP round 1.
I am thinking of transfer him to top schools, like Rosyth , Ai Tong, Catholic High or NanHua etc.
His school result for P1 and P2 is \"excellent\" (percentage ~93/100) , but P3 SA1 drop to \"Very good\" (percentage ~89/100).
May I know with such school result, how big is his chance of successful transfer?
thanks all -

Tonight no need to cook dinner. Eating at mil place… a few blocks away. DD1 will be so happy…she loves my mil cooking.

During the confinement for my first child, there was some tension between my mil and mother over very small issues. My advice is better reject their kind offer.Huiwen86:
My FIL said they might come back to SG to stay with us for a while when I give birth in March next year because they can help take care of the older girls too.
I guess they are joking unless you live in a mansion? Or an expanding flat? Because I count that you already have a household of 5. After you deliver your 2 babies, your mother is coming, and now 2 in-laws? I would be so stressed! -
RE: 2017 Sec 1 (For those born in 2004)
MyPillow:
DD textbooks and guidebooks are collecting dust on the shelves. Next year, will only buy if she ask. DD prepares her own notes and do the practice papers her Teachers uploaded... her way of studying. Some Lower Sec used O level text but not to that deep context . But can save money as the O level text will be used for 4 years from Sec 1 to 4
My ds Sch uses Teacher notes , but i still get lower Sec textbook for him to read . Teachers notes not sufficient .
Results only out on 2 Nov... pray hard her GPA does not drop by too much.
