slmkhoo:Of course, could be other reasons. Just that there have been a few cases of students suicide. When my dd received her PSLE results last year, saw one boy crying badly. According to her, no one asks about your PSLE results in Sec.Cloud Cloud:I used to fail 1 or 2 subjects in JC. Somehow, managed to get into a less popular course in local Uni. The thought to give up on life has never occurred to me. I wonder if children these days are not resilience enough?
She was in poly, and on an internship. The reason is not known, so it may well be something else, not academic pressure.

RE: All About Health Insurance
grownupbaby:
MediShield is basic. If you want to stay in a better ward, see a doctor in a private hospital , speed up the queue in a government hospital, cover the deductibles part, you will need to buy a rider. This rider can only be paid in cash. Can cost more than $400 a year. This translates into about $1 a day. However, some who can stay in a better ward choose not to do so because the follow up treatment will be more expensive. Some with certain medical conditions cannot purchase the riders. I understand these from an agent. Feel free to correct me if not correct.Could someone help me with the following:
.
May I know if I need to get supreme health first then total health? Or can get just total health without supreme health? My agent went MIA. Thinking of changing to another one....
Is it really worth to go for the private health insurance or the medishield life is sufficient. Sometimes I think it is not worth paying for the premium for the private insurance without using it....
Please advise.
Thanks. -
RE: GEP 2017 - Screening & Selection
In a neighbourhood school, less than 10 will clear round 1 and only 2 or 3 will clear round 2. Do manage our own and our child expectation.

My mil just called Hubby to inform that fil has high fever. Hubby will be bringing him to see doctor. It really helps that we stay close to each other.

I think fundamentally besides being a DIL, that DIL is also someone else precious daughter. So I don't think it's reasonable if a husband's solution to 婆媳不合 is simply expect his wife to 忍忍忍. If the elderly is unreasonable in certain situation, the minimum the husband can do is to support his wife. Not necessarily taking side or escalate into family drama but at least calmly 讲讲理吧

RE: In-law problems?
I don’t find mil overinterferring but she does give her opinions over certain issues. Hubby is an obedient son and tends to listen to her. Sil has a mind of her own. We stay a few blocks away. Convenient but not too close for comfort. So far… cordial relationship… I think they prefer to stay on their own but are happy when we visit them with the grandchildren.
