      Hi All,

My first post though I have been following this forum closely.

I'm having a big headache now. Am living within 1km of Red Swastika and is an old girl of Ai Tong. At fist, we thought our choice is easy, that's to move to Sin Ming and enroll in Ai Tong. But we have been viewing flats in Sin Ming and don't like the area. Now we are looking at flats in Bishan but they are damn expensive! I have been playing with the idea of staying in Bedok and try for Red Swastika. But it doesn't help when I learn of the reduced place there.

What would you guys do if you are me?!
I've a friend also an old girl of Ai Tong, and she lives in Sembawang. Enrolled her son into Ai Tong and the child has to travel 1 hour to school and another hour back by school bus :!:

She's looking around to get a place near Ai Tong now as she has younger children who would be going to the same school in future.

Like what Aquarmarine said, don't waste your phase 2A chance cos it's really a big hassle enrolling in other phases at other schools, esp popular ones like Red Swastika.

wah, they so smart ah....

.....Conclusion: If brother reacts to the scaring part, he can see them, if brother just walks through them like normal people (like us), then they know that we can't see them lor.
not easy for your brother not to react to being scared like that ah.... esp when they try the classic \"look-into-the-cabinet-mirror-nobody-there-open-and-close-cabinet-and-BOO!!\" trick. :faint:

......During the day, they usually stay in a corner to avoid knocking against the humans......
      Questions...

      1. Are these beings afraid of knocking into humans?
      2. What happens when they do? Is it detrimental to them?
      3. Has anyone (who can see these beings) ever knocked into them by accident? What does it feel like?

Sorry for having so many questions...

The multi-storey carpark at my place is undergoing renovation (installing lifts) and some areas are being cordoned off. So the surrounding area is darker than usual.

Each time I walk past after parking my car at night, I feel like I'm being engulfed for a brief moment. Not sure if I've walked into one of these beings unknowingly, or if it's the result of an overactive imagination from an overdose of this thread? šŸ˜›

    • RE: Pacifier use

I read somewhere in my baby care books that pacifier use should be limited to the first two years, for proper dentl development.

In the weeks leading up to his 2nd birthday, I tried many ways to get him to quit, all in vain.

Finally, about 2 wks after he turned 2yrs old, I put the pacific in a small container together with some dark vinegar. I was hoping that even he would be put off by the sour taste of the vinegar.

As it turned out, he thought the pacifier was very dirty & didn't even want to try... SUCCESS šŸ˜‰

Really gone?? I like their claypot rice too. A stall set up by husband and wife and their mother. They first sold at the old market beisde Lau Pa Sa. Then they shifted to China Square. I almost frequented it at least once every week for years while working around there since they were at old market. The boneless chicken meat is well marinated. I have tried other claypot rice like the one in Clementi but I still prefer Lau Pa Sa Claypot Rice.
      You're a fan too??!!!! :celebrate:

Yes, the succulent boneless chicken thigh meat, fresh crisp cai xin, fragrant salted fish, cai poh, paired with their free flow belacan chilli.... mo tak deng ah!!!

If you do manage to track them down, pls let me know..... šŸ˜ž

I used to frequent this claypot rice stall in the basement of China Square food centre when I was working in that area. I think the name of the stall is Lau Pa Sat Claypot Rice.

I'm a big fan of claypot rice & this stall served one of the best I've had.

When I was in the area recently, I was very disappointed to find that the food centre was gone! In it's place is a small food court and the claypot rice stall was no more!! 😢 😢 😢

Does any kind soul out there know where the stall is now........ pray tell :please:

    • RE: 13 month old refuses to drink water

She refuses all kinds of liquids? This sounds like disaster!!! :!:

Perhaps you can try a different presentation, e.g. put plain old water in an attractive sippy cup (Dora, Disney Princess, or whatever her fav). You may like to pretend to sip from it to get her interested.

Try to get her used to drinking plain water cos you wouldn't want her asking for sweetened drinks all the time. You may like to try barley water occasionally in this hot weather.

      Hope this helps! šŸ™
