Appreciate your help on the below cloze passage. Can't think of the appropriate word for the qns. 6. :?

Each of the sons (5) tried to break the sticks but failed. Then the farmer untied the bundle and gave each of them one stick. They were (6)__________to break it easily.

If I knew beforehand that this would happen, I might have opted out.

Do inform the teacher on the condition of the phone.

If you choose to opt out, your kid will be the odd one out during class lesson/s when all her classmates are using the smart phone.

This is my main concern that my girl will feel left out if everyone in her class was using the smartphone as given by the school. However I didn't expect the condition of the phone was that bad.
I have informed her teacher thru email. Her form teacher directed my girl to approach someone in CCA room to fix her phone but the person-in charge was not around today. My girl has no choice but to use her own phone as instructed by her teacher during learning journey to the zoo.

      Hi Parents,

My girl is currently a Pr3 student and she was given a smart phone last week but unfortunately was not in a good condition. The phone has a dent and a tiny crack on the start button. Apparently the phone has been dropped by the student prior to my girl. This phone was meant to be used in the learning journey on this week.
I have signed the consent form that should there be any damages or lost of the smart phone, the charges of $500 will be borne by us for a replacement of the phone. With such agreement, I thought that the school will be providing the student with the new phone or a good condition phone before passing down to the next user. If I knew beforehand that this would happen, I might have opted out.

Regarding the after school bus service for CCA on every Wed, is there a way to know whether the service provider will operate the after school bus service since their main requirement is to meet at least 10 students? My girl is now P3 student and had opted for CCA on the last week recruitment. Another question, how is she going to know whether she is being selected for her Preferred CCA which she chose under 1st choice? TIA!

Hi, can anyone please advise this - For the princess makeover at Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel, do we need to make advance booking with them or just do the booking when we reaches there? I will be there on Nov 28. I can only find their hotel contact no. In their website. My dd1 was thrilled to know about this princess makeover when I showed her the website. • RE: Any advice for slow-eaters?

      Imami:

Kids that eat slowly has a disadvantage. Parents can let the child spend one hour eating the food, but think, if your child is in preschool, do you think the teacher will wait only for that slow eater to finish the food while the rest of the children have finished theirs? Your child will be missing out on a lot of things. Start training the child to eat fast between 5 to 6 years old, as you are helping the child to adapt to Primary 1's recess time.

Good point on adapting to pri 1 recess time. But I feel that starting to train at 5or6 yrs old is a little late. My child has been keeping to the 30min meal time since he was three. No one hr meal for him, I got no time.

My dd used to take 30 to 40 mins to finish her meal but now it took her 20mins. If she has tuition class on weekday after school dismissal, she only take 10 mins to finish her dinner as she doesn't want to be late for her class. By the way, she is P1 this yr.

    • RE: self-exploring act by preschooler

      ectanz,

in the websites, it seems to suggest that we should not prevent them from doing it, so long it's privately, meaning bedtime.. or bathroom.. see this link:

      http://www.drgreene.com/qa/masturbation-young-children

i ask school teacher, as she was caught doing the same thing in CC during nap time, but teacher approach is very calm and not over reacting like me..they said they will just tell her to put her hands by the side of her body and ask her to sleep. and teach her about hygiene and if itchy, need to clean up properly. that's all.

Maybe this is the right approach.. cos masturbate is not a wrong act.. i guess.. but our perception of this act for this age .. simply need time to digest.. i plan to get her to sleep in her own room.. now i have doubts.. maybe i should monitor her and reduce her frequency of repeating this act.. she usually do it when she knows no one around.. but knowing that a 5 yo.. she din know we will sneak up to see what is she doing in the room so long..

      sigh..
Agreed. We can't prevent them as they are unconsciously doing this act. Initially, she did it when she was at home in sitting position while watching TV. Then she began to do it at my MIL's place which my MIL told me about her weird action. Then she did it more frequently even during lesson in CCC or enrichment classes. I noticed that she will unconsciously did it in sitting on the floor. Therefore I tried not to let her sleep by herself and been watching her closely. Most importantly, i believe they will gradually get rid of this bad habit when they grow up. Keep them occupy with activities till they are too tired of doing that action.
