i agree that the school hours at St nicks is really long, last year, the teacher still allowed them to bring in bread to class to eat at about 12pm, but this year, the teacher says it is not allowed.
And my DD actually takes school bus to school, the school bus comes at 6.10am even though we stay along YCK road. So my DD just skips breakfast because it’s just too early for her. And my DD told me that, her teacher sometimes makes them stay during recess to do corrections etc, so couldn’t eat during recess and she can only eat when she reaches home so it can be that 2.30pm is her first meal of the day.
The school bus is another headache. I asked the school bus why they need to come so early, they say the school asks them to do so, so I ask the school, the school says they have no control over the school bus. My DD reaches school at 6.35am, cannot go into the classroom. They are only allowed to go into the classroom at 6.50pm, so just stand there and wait, really waste time. School bus fees is ex. and also they charge extra if you come back late. Reason is they use "special" bus, not those big bus.
I think some parents are also not happy due to the school introducing cutoff points for for their sec school in 2013 (due to the IP programme) and slowly increase by 5 marks each year. My DD will be affected since she is going to P6 next year. She was so worried that she can’t go to St Nicks Sec.
Hope the new principal can do something about all these.

RE: Comparing Math Enrichment Programmes
Hi 24hr-mum, if you ever sign up for Onsponge, please let me know the feedback. I am considering JEI/PSLE math but seems mixed feedback about this centre.
Hi FanbingHi Homeworkmummy,
Sorry for the late reply. SA2 is as busy for children as also for me. Anyway, I finally can take a little break over Deepavali. Ok, I had checkout mindstretcher, Growan, TLL, Concept math and Just. Finally, I narrowed the choice to TLL and PSLEMath. In generally most of them has student teacher ratio I am not comfortable with. Some I did not explore further also because no free trial. DS had a assessment with TLL but there wasn;t any constructive feedback. Whole process very corporate. The plus is my DS say the assessment is tough. Another plus is the track record. It seem like everyone in TLL also get A star for PSLE. I finally choose PSLEMath because I think the material or programme is structured in a manner I find make sense, the teacher student ratio (max 6 to 1 teacher) and also cheaper than TTL. Hope that help.
Choosing PSLEMath does not mean I am saying other programme is no good. Each one got its own strength. It quite hard to make a decision actually. I am one who will take a long time to research. After signing up, I am usually quite \"loyal\" unless some really negative event happens. At the end of the day, its about which criteria is most important to us. In my case, programme need to make sense and student per class ideally should not be more than 5. So far haven't found one like that yet. PSLEMath is close tho'.homeworkmummy:
After much research and after a few free trials in several centres  , I finally signed up with JEIPsle. My DS feel its worksheets is more challenging and he feel comfortable in the class and the teacher. The environment is not bad, don't look like tuition centre. After his lesson, his teacher also give me a brief of what was taught and area which she will focus in next lesson.
My DS tell me the centre is now doing something call select papers which is a collection of common questions students make mistakes. Sound like a good method to prepare for exams. I hope this will give him a last minute boost for SA2.
Hi fanbing
I am also looking around for Maths enrichment classes for my P6 DD. Looks like JEI has some good feedback. Could I know which centres you have compared with JEI?
thank you so much for the detailed information. Now it's between TLL, Concept Maths and JEI for me. It's a crucial year for my girl (P6), so I really have to make sure I make the right choice. -

I find the lady from on sponge is not too friendly, anyway their timings does not suit me as well. How does Onsponge compared to JEI in terms of the worksheets, teachers, and the method of teaching? Does anyone know?someone told me that if the child is scoring 80 marks range, can go onsponge.
if the child score above, no need to go
if too low, also cannot go -
