Could I know for this centre, do they focus only on model method? My DD prefers to use the unit or ratio method for certain questions. And how does it compare to Concept Math?

My 2 P1 and P6 DDs will be joining TAS. Do they teach vocab using the vocab book? Do they have a grammar or synthesis book as well?

So they conveniently outsourced their teaching to those enrichment centres, knowing a number of girls hv rich daddies n mummies but too bad I m not one of those rich mummies 😞

When closer to exams, how is it like, do they do mock papers? Or is it still 1 hr comp, and 1 hr for paper 2?

Heard that this was what they intend to propose to MOE. Probably they want to become a full IP sch eventually??

in st nicks, almost all her classmates attended tuition/enrichment classes. When my girl was in p1, she had no tuition at all, at the end of p1, the teacher actually called me up and asked if my girl attended any tuition classes, i said no. She then said that her results were not as gd as others so i need to do something about it. So now i have become a kiasu mum.

School bus - i paid $130 per mth both ways plus additional $20 per month for coming back late on certain days. I stay about 5km from the sch. And the sch bus does not pick u up when there are lessons (whole level) during holidays. I remember there was one holiday, my girl actually waited 20 min for the bus and the bus never came. I called up the driver and he said that he knew about the extra holiday lessons but because there were only 1 or 2 girls to pick up, he did not want to "waste his petrol". I told him I paid the bus fees from jan to dec and there is no reason why he should not come n pick up my girl. In the end, i hv to send my girl to school, they did not even have the courtesy of calling me up to inform me that they are not coming.

On breakfast, I guess my girl already gets very used to not having breakfast (5 years since P1), so she tends to eat a lot during recess. But on days when they were asked to stay back during recess, no choice. Next year, since my younger girl will also be going to P1, I will be sending both of them to school at 7am so that they both need not wake up that early and also have sufficient time to take breakfast before going to sch.

On cutoff, i heard the cutoff is 225 to 230 for sec 1 2013 and slowly increase by 5 marks each yr, so by the time my younger girl reaches P6, could all be IP classes. I think for 2013, they plan to open 2 or 3 IP classes. To go into the IP class, at least 250.
