buds: Every family has their issues, just because one family is featured on Page 1 doesn't exactly make my family any better than theirs. Though it is sad to hear / know of such tragedies and empathize with the situation, it is a good way to reflect on how sound my family is to avoid such incidences featured in the papers. Somehow, i find we'll never really know what is in store for us in the future... no matter how hard we have prepared for it. God will test us in many ways. Truth be told, i've been tested heavily... on a personal level and also at family level. It is really up to us how we are going to take it, resolve it and get on with our lives positively from then on... Just my sharings.. :oops:Hey buds, u spoke my mind... :hugs:

I do not think there is any scientific link between alcohol and sexuality. On the contrary, male’s performance, is reportedly, can be affected by alcohol.but alcohol can affect one’s ability to think logically and sensibily, thus may perform acts that one would not do under normal circumstances. Whether drunk or not, we are responsilble for our actions.

carin004:We keep telling my mother to do whatever she likes when she still can walk and run. There is nothing to hold her back now. Enjoy life while she can.For the above, I found a poem for the reality of growing old, enjoy :Another year has passedand we're all a little older.Last summer felt hotterand winter seems much colder. There was a time not long agowhen life was quite a blast. Now I fully understandabout 'Living in the Past'We used to go to weddings, football games and lunches. Now we go to funeral homes, and after-funeral brunches. We used to have hangovers, from parties that were gay.Now we suffer body aches and wile the night away.We used to go out dining, and couldn't get our fill. Now we ask for doggie bags, come home and take a pill.We used to often travelto places near and far.Now we get sore assesfrom riding in the car.We used to go to nightclubsand drink a little booze. Now we stay home at nightand watch the evening news. That, my friend is how life is,and now my tale is told. So, enjoy each day and live it up...before you're too damned old!

LionIron:I also didn't call home to check on things as meetings and dinners took all my time here till late night every day. Ohhh....I understand.LionIron:She may be suffering from that compulsive disorder thing. I think I need to engage things with her very carefully, NO heated conversations. How to ask her to see a doctor ?With lots of TLC. It's got to come from her - to recognize the need to seek help. Else it'd be a compulsion to do it to please you??!?

Luanee:schellen:Ya lor, cos enrichment programs are SO EXPENSIVE nowadays, might as well teach them ourselves.I know of SAHMs who dont cook or do housework (got maid), dont teach (kids all have enrichment and tuition), and who are more interested in going for manicures and facials etc. Guess there are different categories of SAHMs - the tai-tais vs the housewives? That's why I only call them SAHM if they really fulfill the M part of SAHM. (Giving birth to them only doesn't count hor.) Otherwise, they are just tai-tais cos they fulfill the \"wife\" role only.

ChiefKiasu:I've always been intrigued by their camps:http://www.ctworkshop.com.sg/icamp.htmlCalled them up before the June holidays to inquire about their 5-day programmes for my 8yo, but thought that their price was exorbitant for a 2.5hr daily regime. And I had to bring my son to and from their place at 10am and 12:30pm. How does a working parent do that for 5 days consecutively!Wondered if anyone has any experience or good things to say about the programmes themselves.I guess it's time for our \"regional\" clubs to play their roles in car pooling. :?:

A bit like asking whether food or water is more important. Reading through a different thread, really sent a shudder down my spine. God forbid that I fail so badly in my marriage that we should seek a separation. DW and I have vowed that no matter how KSParents we be, we will always set aside fixed time for each other every week. Go out for dinner, watch a movie, romance each other and have ‘together’ time very regularly. In the busyness of work and child-minding, its all too easy to take each other for granted, and then slowly drift apart. If the bond is strong and there is intimacy, many obstacles can be overcome. My posit is that a strong marriage begets a strong family, and if there were a conflict between spouse-time and kid-time, spouse time usually comes out ahead.Your thoughts?
