Theoretically, very few would give up a CO from RI

So chances of converting WL to CO should be quite low
Just speculating. I dont know for sure of course
Not sure. There still quite some GEPpers gave up COs from RI, and went to NUSH last year.

Anyway, WL is better than rejected. IF you still hope the enter RI, you have better place than the rejected DS.

For ACSI & MGS Ip, GE kids with SA1 >80% also exempted from HAST.

Like that totally nothing need to be done for >80% @ ACSI?

woo nia bo? :scratchhead:

Yes, this is the first year ACSI has exemption for GE students who score >80%. There is a 1-page personal statement to submit, together with the rest of the portfolio.
Wow, ACSI try to win GEP from other schools...

Not only RI, I had mentioned in previous post, during RGS open house, the school mentioned each year they took in about 150/200 Gepper during DSA ex, left about 50/200 for MS students of whole Singapore, that's already show that they are more favour Gepper. So for MS students, unless your DD is very outstanding in certain category and you can accept the rejection, otherwise don't try, chances are very slim.

Understand parents are very stress now, waiting for outcome. Cool down please....

What about sports? Are those under the sports domain included in the 50/200 from MS? Thanks.

Sports certainly are included in the MSer group.

Please read my point in bold. From the discussion, the main thing I realise is that it is also very tough on GE kids for the DSA process hence empathising with the situation when they are not automatically handed a CO because there have been some parents who try so hard to convince everyone that GE kids have it all done for them, DSA is sure-win for them....which is essentially not true.
Now I see.
The COs of RI or RGS are the prizes for the most GEPpers, is it right?

1. Get your kid into GEP. If cannot get in, how? Complain that GEP kids got in cos of prep classes? Again, blame culture. Please don't.
2. Excel in sports or some talents, including academic that RI values. If in the end, still don't get DSA, then RI doesn't value you enough. How? Complain again? Please don't.
3. Do well in PSLE. Sure to get into this amazing school that die die must get into.
🀷

Too long. IF RI only hope to collect its GEPpers via DSA, why not abolish its DSA to all MSers?

Hi leooel, I am just curious - which secondary school is your DC in now? I also hope to DSA RI for my DS but quite discouraged by now. He is talented in Math but not as strong in languages. Perhaps that makes him not suitable for RI afterall....
πŸ˜‚
I only hope such discussion giving your DS more chance. So never give up!
But your DS must need a platinum and best be the top 10 if he hope a CO of RI, I think at present.

Someone said the math exam of RI meet O level, so you possibly need teach his math ahead.

Anyway, the high target is a kind of force for your DS, go ahead!

There only are ~220 girl GEPpers. They all apply for RGS, so ~150 COs are prepared for them? How many WLs are prepared for other GEPpers?

RI usually informs COs for Sports, Music, Art first, followed by COs/WLs for GEP, then COs/WLs for MS, and finally the rejected candidates..

The school usually sends out SMSes in batches, over a few days.. Can be pretty nerve-wrecking.. πŸ˜“

All The Best !!
U must know how many COs and WLs sent to MSers. Could you PM me the messages? I must keep the secrets, Please satisfy to my curious feeling. πŸ˜‚

Wow! U hope to start a war?

I am not deep resntment & hatred RI, just point out some bugs of its DSA rules. DS is not interested in RI actually. But others may meet such puzzles.

Is it so difficult to answer YES or NO ? I can easily do a SEARCH in this forum to find out the answer, but I just want all to hear it directly from you & layperson..

Your answers may help shed some light on your deep resentment & hatred towards a particular school..

So.. YES or NO ??
Like a justicer? I do not know if other one hope to answer the question. I have to say something as I saw the long discussion of tck...
