My daughter has gotten a place in Marymount convent in Phase 2C
However, I am considering withdrawing her from Marymount convent and applying for OLGC at Phase 2CS. They have 11 vacancies left. How likely will we get in without balloting?

Some background: We are within 1KM for OLGC and out of 2KM for Marymount. I had wanted to apply for OLGC in phase 2C but missed the registration deadline.

in 2019 24 applied for 13 spots, balloting was for those 1-2km.
In 2018, 13 applied for 7 spots, only 1km was admitted.

It should be rather close between a balloting for within 1km or 1-2km. It does seem to have a handful within 1km. Possible excess may come from Yangzheng and Kuo Chuan. Rosyth folks should be 1-2km category.

Overall slightly lesser applicants this year than last year (500±) and 3.7k will be balloted out in 2C.

90 oversubscribed plus 1 other school hit by the PR limit. (less than last year)

If my eyes didn’t failed me, there are 66 balloting within 1km (less than last year). With more than 6X oversubscribed for Northland, Nan Hua and South view. Princess Elizabeth largest over in absolute term (191). 15 schools balloting for SC 1-2km (more than last year) and 4 more balloting SC >2km (same as last year).

may need to analyse abit further. vacancy dropped from from 111 to 73 for 2Cs, alot more activated the marymount backup plan to avoid balloting elsewhere in 2C. But even there is a balloting for 1-2km, chances fair good.

Previous years Day 3 info also not updated on Day 3. Last year enrolment period for Phase 2C happen to be on 3 to 5 Aug as well and the numbers for Day 3 were not provided on 5 Aug as well. It was provided on 12 Aug together with the balloting status.

Regarding previous years can't be used as yardstick...last year is the first year it all went online, I'm not sure how it works in the years before. As such, I mentioned that for this year in the previous phases, it is the same...no updates on numbers on final day of application, numbers and balloting status will be updated on the date stated on the MOE website and results announced on another date if your application requires balloting.

But basic minimum, must inform parents which distance bracket entering into balloting, so that if certain group of 2C SCs students no chance to ballot at all, after 3 pm, they should quickly make their way down to (St Margaret or Marymount or some CHIJ schools still left with vacancies) primary in time, to secure a last slot in P2C without balloting, instead of wasting away their precious, golden 2C chance

Now no need to make their way down, its how fast they can withdraw and how fast they need to register to the next school online.
