    • RE: Would you pay a maid S$25 000/mth for her devotion to you?

If the helper has worked for me loyally for 20 years and treated me like her own mother, AND I have no one else to give my assets to, why not? I cant being all my material goods with me, can I?

People already can donate copious amounts of money to charity, what more of
Someone who has taken good care of
Them for so many years, perhaps unconditionally and more?

    • RE: Call for http://singaporemaid.blogspot.com to be removed

Generally I find the blog useful and informative.

About naming names, please, there are so many other blogs there talking about each other. Black listing each other, even at politicians during the election. To say that they can’t answer back, true only to some
Extent since the Internet is widely used by the helpers now too. They may not know of the existence of this blog before now, but who knows, as I type this, someone may e gossiping about me on their blog. If I have done nothing wrong, why should I be afraid?

And to quote examples in the papers today, employers would know its useless to either complain to the ministry or even talking to the helpers themselves. Yah right they would take kindly to our criticisms. Right.

Perhaps it may be a little extreme, but I feel the blog is to protect us, te employers in the blogger’s own way. If I not wrong, she works in the legal field so she knows her limits. I have read reviews of some of the helper’s as there are some really unbelievable helpers out there.

If we say this blog is wrong, then we can say that sites six as hungry go where are bad for food businesses too.

      Thanks, alternateshift.

I do have 2 PT helpers. One on each day. But one of them is always saying she can’t come, causing me a lot of inconvenience.

Agreed! All my maids are social butterflies! Like to flirt with men (especially FT) and like to talk a lot (only to other maids).

True!!! My burmese maid even smiled at a group of Bangla men when she was out walking the dogs with us!

You means the bed mites are visible to the naked eyes?

      Oops. I meant bed bugs.

    • RE: Myanmar maids

I didn’t know they have so much pride. So much so that my maid will not say ‘thank you’ or ‘sorry’ ever.

It feels really horrible when you buy them a nice piece of cake, and they just take it from you, like you owe it to them.

    • RE: Should maids be given a day off every week?

I think it’s okay, and yes, with all the stupid fines all removed.

I have given my helpers lots of time off. When I go out with friends, I will sometimes give time-off, from 12 to 4pm.

Having said that, my current Burmese maid is crazy over Banglas and from don’t know where, brought back bed mites. She didn’t even realise until I found it in her room. From then on, her off days were taken away, as signed on earlier in agency. I just thought she has cousins here, so I let her off to go be with her relatives. But I think she ended up flirting with several many guys.

It is icky when I give them what they want, and I don’t get appreciation back.
