Do you have a ds in NUSH oredi? All the best to your ds who DSA this year. :xedfingers:Niharika:
I am a big fan of nush myself
Both my D's and I feel its a perfect match for him
Now it's the schools turn to decide if he is worthy enough

RE: DSA 2016
cayun7:
Last year, we went for trial on 1st week of July, received interview notification on the 2nd week of July and went for interview on the 3rd week of July. Everything moved so smoothly and fast. But the waiting time for the CO was long, almost more than a month....And the CO finally came during last week of Aug, 26 Aug to be exact....Song22:
Hi all, just to share my previous experience with NYGH DSA 2 years ago.
We received the interview notice only 2nd week of August and gone for interview on 3rd week of August. The result only released the last day of August or so. I was told that they processed the interview by batches. Imagine how nervous we were while waiting for the notice while some her friends gotten the notice early July. We even received another school's CO before we went for NY interview.
So hang in there, looks they really process the interview \"by batches\"
Thanks for your sharing. That's relieved us a lot!!
They really process in batches.... last year, they were still interviewing during 2nd and 3rd of Aug....
Best of luck to your DD... -
RE: Travel: New Zealand
Jennifer:
I heard from hubby that New Zealand adopts the same left hand drive on the road as Singapore, unlike USA.
Yes, we drive in spore only.starlight1968sg:
Somehow I always thought you and your husband can drive.
I guess as long as the driver does not speed, is alert on the road, driving on NZ roads should be relatively safe in good weather.
It is much much more easier to drive in NZ and Australia than in SGP...Just avoid driving long distance at night.... -
RE: Compare RGS vs NYGH
678Yess:
Don avoid the question, explain if you can. Admit it if it is not possible for a few people that tried to explain, but explain and tell nothing at all.... Are these people from Nygh that is just can not articulate and talk about an issue?
Just wondering, since you have some many issues with NYGH, why did your dd apply NYGH DSA last year?? Should just stick to RGS will do. Why waste your precious time in applying to enter a school which you think that has some many problems..... -
RE: Compare RGS vs NYGH
678Yess:
How does students from nygh mix and learn from and with students with other races in nygh since there is no other race, except chinese in nygh, please explain?
So you have issue with this too? -

Oh My Gosh:
Haha... True. But I dun think other schools fees are only $5?!?!
Can check from here : https://www.moe.gov.sg/education/secondary
Also tell your friend that RI's school fee is $300 monthly whereas other schools' fee is $5 monthly.php:
Please tell your friend the school is not hard up for the $20k or $20
The whole idea of the $20 is just saying \"don't just make a frivolous application\" to try luck. -

Also tell your friend that RI's school fee is $300 monthly whereas other schools' fee is $5 monthly.Oh My Gosh:
A Friend asked me a simple question... Why does RI needs to collect $20 administrative fees for DSA application when some other schools do not, or only collect after the students are shortlisted? Imagine 1000 applicants will be a whopping $20K!!!
Please tell your friend the school is not hard up for the $20k or $20
The whole idea of the $20 is just saying \"don't just make a frivolous application\" to try luck. -
RE: DSA 2016
ying2:
Then why apply school \"D\"??If got offer from school \"D\" during DSA, but not take up, then wait for PSLE result out, when S1 posting still choose school \"D\". Will it affect S1 posting to get in to school \"D\"?
Example got waiting list from school \"A\", \"B\", \"C\", and CO from school \"D\". When Oct. fill in DSA option form with all 3 choices with all waiting list's schools. School \"D\" is the 4th choice. Just imagine... -

678Yess, in public forum, you are free to express your view. You had been throwing stones at Mdm Heng & NYGH for almost a year and all KSP's parents heard you.678Yess:
Nygh is not a private sxhool, it is only independent school. Majority of the fund comes from the government.678Yess:
And therefore it should be commended for following the spirit of MOE policies, which is to look beyond a narrow view of education. Things like character, diversity, mixed ability classes etc.what is done these two sxhool needs to be answerable to the general public. I was saying the policy adopted by nygh is not fair to each applicant. Since they are funded by tax payer money through, every applicant shd be treated equally.Meritocarcy is the fundamental of our society.
NYGH is just recognizing what parents already know - that not all primary schools are equal. I do not see anything wrong with NYGH's approach to DSA.
Turning the clock back to Aug last year, if, I say IF, your dd was given CO from both NYGH and RGS, which would you choose?
