    • RE: Travel: USA - Florida/Orlando

      Dear Dnls-mum,

Thanks for your tips and itinerary information.

I had a massive heart attack just trying to plan my meal plans from your itinerary. The count down from 180 days starts from 10th June 2014.

I have booked my air tickets and will arrive in Orlando on 4th Dec till 17th Dec!

For now, I like to know how many days should I allocate for each park? Should I plan this way 6 days tickets- 2 days for MK, 2 days for Epcots, 1 day for AK and 1 day for Hollywood?

I know it doesnt cost much to add another 2 days tickets. But for a start - is 6 days sufficient?

I am hoping for the Free Dining Plan for my stay.

I have an issue now…the money I save (iif I have FDP) not having to purchase my meals might allow me to kick it up a notch and stay at a Deluxe & then getting the Regular Dinng plan for free OR to stay at a Moderate and upgrade from the Quick Service plan to the Regular dining plan, it isn’t that much more $$$.

If I stay at a moderate hotel for 8 nights/9 days, to upgrade from Quick Service will cost an extra est. US$ 480.

      My questions:

1)Definitely the overall package for Moderate hotel is cheaper than going Deluxe but will going Deluxe be worth the money?
      2) I assume the dining plan covers the 9th day?

I am fine battling for a ride on bus to the parks. We will not have a car during Disney on-site stay. My choice of moderate hotel is Port Orleans French Quarter or Riverside. Anything above this range without FDP is out of my budget.

If free dining isnt included during my trip, I will consider to value hotel Pop Century (so much cheaper) and pay for dining plans.

Once again , appreciate all your prompt replies and very helpful tips.

At Kallang MRT area - For pri 1 and 2 English for Weekday Mon to Wed 9-10.30am…You may want to check out Teacher Helen. ex teacher, current teacher at enrichment centre…

Odd timing due to she doesnt work in the morning of 9-10.30am Mon to Wed so she can only teach Pri 1 & 2 (afternoon session students).

She is very good! Was recommended to me and my girl Pri 6 has been with her for 1 yr.

Pls PM me if keen. Cos i dont feel comfortable putting her number on a focum.

      janet_lee88:
don't talk about a friend's other half having an affair...even if meet cousin on the road behaving intimately with another woman also pretend not to know him.

      Exactly....pretend dont know him.

Once it had happened, we ran faster than Bolt to hide in our car...then DH & I laughed nervously...why we run huh? :scared:

    • RE: All About Full-Time Maids

      She knows our limits.

She manages the household well. From cooking, houseworks and my kids…so we close 2 eyes on her HP usage. She only uses her hp in the toilet. I pretend I dont know about her hp so she cannot use in front of us.

My maid has been with us for more than 7 yrs…We like to think we treat her fair and well. She had been home 5x (each 10-17 days) for the past 7 yrs. We pay her for air tickets and she also gets full month pay too during her home leave.

In return, I expect her to do her job well.

Any tips to prevent maids from hiding in the toilet and using their handphone for a long time?

Did you state your house rules on her first day?

Tell her off also no use......Nowadays, my husband just bangs on the door and she will be out in 2 sec.

I know but …DH is so worried about us being overdosed on park rides. We may transit in NY so we will go there for sure. As for Las Vegas, we plan to take a domestic flight for 5 days…

Can you pls share your itinerary with me? I sent you a PM yesterday. Thanks so much!

    • RE: Clothes

NONE - I just pick a dress from my wardrobe that still has the price tag on  , no shoes too!

5 doors - > 2-doors 2 racks (top rack for blouses, bottom rack for skirts and shorts, jeans folded), 2-doors for dresses, last door has 3 shelves of folded clothes....I am a complusive shopaholic hoarder. :nailbite:

A joke on this- when I am looking for a particular dress to wear but my helper hasn't ironed it...she will ROLL HER EYES and said \"surely you can find something else to wear\"....but I cant....I must wear that dress! :siam:

    • RE: Managing domestic helper 101

My helper has been with us for more than 7 years. When I re-contracted her after 2nd year, I told her the only rule I have is NO HANDPHONE.

Of course after 7 years, everyone cannot do without handphone and she needs it to contact her friends on her off days.

So I pretended I didnt know she has a handphone. As a result, she cannot use it in front of me.

Sometimes she hides in the toilet to use her handphone. As long as it doesnt take too long, I wont nag her.

Give & Take and all will be well.

    • RE: Add extra baggage weight when buying maid's airticket?

My helper goes back once every year for 2 wks to 18 days. We pay for her airticket and always a 40kgs baggage weight back home but only 15kgs return.

      She always overpacked ! :slapshead:
