• RE: 2019 P1 Registration Exercise for 2020 In-take

If u plan to withdrawing and re-registering, best to go to the school B that you plan to re-register, to personally ask (nicely) with the Admin.

What happened to me last year was the Admin discouraged me at 3pm (last day) from withdrawing from my school A. Because at that point already has SC > 2km need to ballot. She said no point for me to take the risk. Really a heart attack moment not for the faint hearted.

Take note also if your area has a lot of new BTOs flats. As this would be a game-changer.

I found some screenshots I did last year from the MOE website - Schools required balloting for phase 2B, 2C and 2CS. Let me figure out how to attach the jpg files here.

DO you have for phase 2C and 2Cs? thx u

Sweet baby, the list for 2C and 2CS is quite long, because they are jpg files, will take some time to load. I send u tmr.

• RE: Junior Sports Academies

zac's mum:

This is what I heard from a friend whose child got selected last year:

- no benefits for PSLE
- the child gets to learn several sports for free in the next 2.5 years (1 new sport every term)
- locations for the training are external facilities and held on Saturdays, no transport provided, but you can indicate your residential zone eg they have different groups for NSEW part of Singapore
- no outright priority for DSA via sports, but obviously the coaches will notice the ones with talent, and maybe issue invitations to DSA trials in P6 year
- child gave feedback that there is some hardselling to the kids to DSA into Singapore Sports School (which is not popular apparently)
Thank u for the detailed explanation Zac'c mum because the MOE website explaination of DSA is very shallow. Nothing mentioned about helping in academics. Is mostly to headhunt sports talents and selecting them for the national team. My child not really sporty type wondered why got his letter. They are alr so busy with VIA, CCE and tuition, where have time to commit this DSA for 2yrs until p6. The grades during psle will not suffered meh.. Especially if the child has no time to rest and play.

Hi,

My child has been selected ti go for the trial selection in Mar for this JSA. May I know if the program will "help" them in getting into their choice Sec sch? Or any benefits during PSLE? Else I think not to waste time to go for the trial.
My best friend sends his daughter to this place, The Schooling Society. It is near the top bukit timah schools. Apparently, the ex HOD of Science from Nanyang Primary is there. Should be good coz the NYPS exam papers are by far the best in Sg. The HOD is running a science boot camp this month.Hope this helps.

Strange that the founder nor tutors’ profile are not shared. As I read the home page, this tuition centre is more keen in promoting its “smart board” more than anything else. 😆
Make one wonders smart board can really help to improve the grades, A* guaranteed? who cares about smart board, white board or black board?!
As parents, we are more keen to know about the profile and experience of the tutors.

Because the founder and tutor is Easylife99? hahaha...
Totally avoid The schooling society. Read the review here:
