Seems like all good teachers get fearful students at first! I remember parents using me as the bogeyman to scare their children into eating their vegetables, when I was the DM ("If you don’t eat your vegetables, I’d tell Mr Chan!")!Till today, I still keep in touch with my students, haha.

janet_lee88:Such unethical teacher should be reported. Teachers are paid by MOE to serve in schools...how can they possibly coach privately and be paid again? Where does their loyalty lie?Janet, until the day MOE explicitly disallows private coaching (risking being lynched by a mob of parents), this practice shall continue. All Singapore teachers are allowed up to 6 hours a week of private lessons. Only (perhaps) when parents no longer feel that they need existing teachers to coach their children, shall such practice stop.

P5 was indeed a trying year for all of us…problem sums are so tough and different from before. Hubby got son to work on section A without timing him. He could do the questions, but once put in timer, he went haywire. But there was a need to time him bcos time is not on his side, he cannot solve questions at his own leisure.
