What are the (worthwhile) brands you buy for yourself during your USA trips?
Most oulet malls have the same brands like Coach, KS, MK etc. Nowadays outlets have added Gucci, Prada, Ferragamo etc. All the brands are worthwhile to buy. If you look hard enough, there are great deals in every shop. Just dont buy because it is cheap. Buy only because it is something you like and will use.SarChar:
I've lost interest in Coach. Too common and too many people carrying, even to NTUC (I'm guilty too la
)
Saw maids using Coach wristlets too.
did you meet my helper at NTUC?
heehee i always buy something from Coach for my helper on my USA Trips. So she has tote, sling bag, wallet and in May - she received a wristel.
I love factory outlet shopping. I usually plan 2-3 days outlet shopping. It is impossible to spend just 1 day.
Outlet mall shopping makes my heart beat faster just like I have just completed a 10km run.
Wear comfy shoes and eat a big breakfast. Bring a big bottle of water bottle to keep hydrated.
Before you go, download the saving coupons from premium outlet malls. I don’t find it very useful because sometimes, you may have to spend certain amount before you can get the discount. But I have used the coupons to get free gifts or extra 10% before.
I have bought Bebe jeans for US$ 12, polo dress for $ 7, Gap kids tees for $4, sports branded shorts for $10-12 when it cost S$ 49-$69 in Singapore!
I also use only cash to keep track of my damage control. -

i am more crazy over bags than shoes...if i get a good pair of shoes, that would suffice...but bags are never enough. i am now eyeing MCM.
I like the studs haversack too and thought it will look cute for DD. But this is before I know how much it cost! -

I was at a USA Prada outlet in May. The long wallet cost average S$ 800 in Singapore but US$ 350 plus $ 8.25% at USA Prada Outlet. The full leather tote (A4 size or bigger) cost US$ 895 to US$ 1295 only. Singapore cost about S$ 2600 to $ 3500+ for these similar bags.Anyone has been to US prada outlet mall ?
Is it worth it and is it cheaper than SG?
Any reviews on it?
But at Europe outlet shopping, the long Prada wallet cost just S$ 240 after tax rebate. :stupid: -

to add on for the drivers, if the daily rate is cheap, it can mean he will send you back to your hotel in early evenings to rush home (to sleep) which can be more than 1 hr away. Then the next day - he will start your day late like 10am.
It was frustrating in the initial stage as we didnt understand what was going on. Towards the end of our trip, we paid for all his single room stays so that we could have a longer day trip. -
RE: How much to budget for UK 3-year degree?
Some of the expensive items have been mentioned by Mummy Insider.
I would say plain A4 size papers, toilet papers, tissue papers too. But no choice right because we do need these regularly. I did bring my Muji bedding set too! I cant stand colorful or flowery prints.
The other thing I found to be rather costly is Thai rice. I told my mum I could only afford to buy broken rice (its also thai rice but shorter grain).
Then 2 months later, I received a parcel for 20kgs of rice by sea shipment! I was the joke of my hostel for a long time because everyone was expecting some local sauces, foodies. But she sent 2 big bags of 10kgs rice. No note, no word, just rice! Thats my mum!

RE: How much to budget for UK 3-year degree?
Reading the post here brought back fond memories when I prepared for my studies in UK!
I think the most important thing to bring is a rice cooker, slow cooker, a laptop & medicine. I actually find other things cheaper in UK (even now) than in Singapore.
I bought my black coats in Singapore and paid about $ 400 each in those times. But in the end, I was the only gloomy one and had to buy more colorful jackets/coats when I got there for less than 1/2 the price. I brought so many things over and Dad joked if i was going to live on a mountain for 2 years.
If you dont think of the exchange rate - a tub of ice cream cost 1.29 pound but easily $6 here.
Another thing I brought was photos of my family. I sticked them all over my hostel wall and during my lonely moments, I just stared at the photos and shed a few tears. -

Hello, Cityinn Plus XMD is at very good location. If you manage to book Family Room, it will be decent size. The other triple rooms or double do not have windows. Overall very good feelings about this small hotel. Thanks, Venus.
So you booked the family room? Is it spacious? We will be bringing 3 large luggage.
To book this Cityinn Plus XMD, if you are traveling in Dec, you can start the booking 3 months before on the 1st. If you cant make a booking within 10-15min from 9am, basically the rooms will be snapped up!
i didnt manage to get the rooms so I paid more on Agoda.
regards!
